Spalding Sprint Triathlon and Lincolnshire County Championships 2005

THE RESULTS

Sunday 17th July saw the running of the Spalding Sprint Triathlon which incorporated the Lincolnshire County Championships.

The event has been hailed as a great success with over 230 competitors and many supporters and families enjoying the brilliant sunshine at the Castle Sports Complex in Spalding.

The day proved to have a real community atmosphere with family entertainment provided by South Holland District Council.

The event, which incorporated a 400m swim, 20km bike ride and 5km run saw Stuart Brown from the Loughborough University Performance Squad taking first place for the men, with Vanessa Raw also from the Loughborough University Performance Squad coming in first for the women.

Mat Stephenson from the Royal Air Force Triathlon Association and Lucy Nell from Total Fitness Nottingham, both from the Spalding area, were the first placed male and female from Lincolnshire, which has qualified them to represent the County in next months Inter County Triathlon Championships.
